It is taking up way too much time to devote any time to decent posts. But I promise I will come back more committed and with better content!
Oh and as a side note if I comment on anyone’s blog it will come up with origami heroes as I changed it so when I post comments for my group it doesn’t say Essjay!
See you all Soon!

Uni = DEATH
Posted: March 1, 2012 Filed under: Random Ramblings | Tags: internet, nightmare, organise, problems, study 2 Comments »So first week back… complete nightmare! having the past 6 months off made me forget how exhausting study is…
- Firstly, I picked too many units, some of which way too intense – remedied by dropping one unit… (hopefully that is enough!)
- And then clash of uni timetable… (I have exactly 0 minutes to get from one campus to the next… a 25 minute drive down the freeway.)
- Next, too much organising, getting groups organised for uni and organising other commitments outside of uni! (I always over book myself!)
- And then my podcasts for my online unit… Not Working…
- And the cherry on top of a crappy week… YES you guessed it my internet stuffs up. So I haven’t had internet to do anything… (but the silver lining, no distraction for the study I have been able to do!
)
But hopefully next week will be a better week! Also my lack of internet is why I haven’t put any pictures up for my other blog. But this weekend I will definitely post some more!
Packaging: the good, the bad and the pointless
Posted: February 15, 2012 Filed under: Random Ramblings, Review | Tags: design, graphics, ideas, intelligent, marketing, packaging, rambling Leave a comment »The last week I have spent coughing and sputtering and just generally being sick, which sucks big time, cos when I get a cold or any type of ailment it lasts FOOOORREVVVERRRR… But anyhow the last few days I had been coughing so bad and today after my mum had gone shopping she brought me back a pack of fisherman’s friends. The first thing I noticed was ohhh new packaging, and this was a ‘Ohh new packaging’ (good idea) rather than an ohhh new packaging (stupid idea)…
Fisherman’s Friends (lozenges) – so the new packaging I was ohhing and ahhing about, is pretty simple but ingenious, basically it was to make a re-sealable packaging and entirely plastic rather than the papery packaging that it was before, the reason I am so on board is the amount of times I have had such things in my bag and they just spill everywhere even when u try to fold them shut, so this is some good simple but intelligent packaging ideas here…
Next…
LCM’s (kids breakfast type bars) – new idea for clever packaging?? leaving a white space on the package so you can write a note on it… WTF??? seriously?? and the fact that they go so far as to advertise it like wow this new packaging… ingenious… what will they think of next? completely white packing so you can write all over the bar?? omg no way… all I could think when I first saw these new ads showing this was really?? they are actually trying to use this as a unique selling proposition? I am sorry but that is plain stupid, fair enough you can now write on the little white area but really?
Well I don’t really have any others to report on off the to of my head but that’s what came to mind, then I came up with the title and kind of just went with it, but I am sure to come up with some more… in the meantime some clever packaging I personally really like Askinosie Chocolate packaging!
DIY: Valentine’s Printable Take 2

And here it is:
DIY: Valentine’s Card

This is a step-by-step tutorial of how to make this card. (sorry in advance for the bad quality photos, I do own a camera but am far too lazy to get it out and use it for most photos, so alas the good old iphone gets a nice work out when it comes to taking on the go photos.)
First things first click on the link below and print it, I recommend using a fairly thick card stock. However, if you can’t just use normal printer paper and then stick it to a thicker stock. (I used Epson Matte Paper – Heavyweight)

Next you will need:
- Self-healing cutting mat
- Ruler
- Stanley knife
- Sharp cutting knife (if you prefer)
- Scissors (if you prefer)
- Printout (in image the top print is on regular paper, the bottom is printed on Epson Matte (heavyweight) paper, which you can clearly see (even in this terrible photo) has a much nicer and intense print.)

Using your stanley knife cut just inside all of the straight lines.

Using your sharp knife or scissors carefully cut out the top of the heart. (I prefer scissors!)

Once everything is cut out, flip the paper over.

Now this step is for if you have a thick enough stock and are careful enough.
Carefully line the ruler up and then using the back of the knife softly score the paper.

And finally… Ta Da
I am probably going to stick diamontes etc on and maybe use some pink paper as an insert
Hope this tutorial/ template is useful!
Microwave Cake
Posted: February 7, 2012 Filed under: DIY, Food | Tags: cake, diy, easy, fast, microwave, yum 2 Comments »If you haven’t checked out Pinterest,
Please do yourself a favour and do so IMMEDIATELY !!!
Honestly it is like the best thing ever!
Whilst perusing the Many pins on the site I came across this cool little recipe for microwave cakes. It’s a really clever idea because it allows you to store the mix and just grab a mug and pop the ingredients together in a matter of seconds, after the initial mixing each serve takes less than 2 minutes to make. So maybe I should call it the 2 minute cake? Anyhow here is the link.
I couldn’t find that particular cake mix but I did find these:

And they worked perfectly well…
Here is my modified version of the recipe.
First I mixed both the cake mix and the icing mix from the chocolate cake with just the cake mix of the vanilla cake in a air tight container. Make sure it’s mixed through nicely. And then that’s it!
Then when you actually want to whip up a cake, you grab a mug or something similar, then put 3 tablespoons of the mix, 2 tablespoons of water and one tablespoon of milk and mix it through, (I only mixed until there was minimal lumps and that worked fine for me). Then microwave for 45 seconds – 1 minute (depending upon microwave and how well cooked you want, I personally like it little less cooked and because of the icing mix being in there it makes it quite gooey and yum, oh and also beware the mug gets super hot, you will need to take it out by the handle). Then serve with ice cream
or without…
(I have already made 8 of these and still got at least half of the mix left, but still no photos because they just get gobbled up, I will try to take a photo next time!)
Creativity and a Broken Heart
Posted: February 5, 2012 Filed under: Inspiration, Random Ramblings | Tags: broken heart, create, creativity, procrastinate Leave a comment »Late last night I typed up this post however I decided not to post it straight away since I was half asleep. And rightly so after re-reading it I realised how much rambling it was and managed to cut it down. So here it is…
Nothing spurs creativity like a broken heart.
I lay wondering about my inability to create after a particularly crappy drawing that would not work for me. I lay still longer thinking about things when all of a sudden it came to my mind all the little creative ways I use to come up with wording things or creating images when my heart was aching and some what broken. Then I was left thinking wow there really is nothing like a broken heart to make you feel your work and really create things.
Alas if my only problem be that my creating ability is lacking because my heart is whole, I am certain that is a price I am more than willing to pay.
Finally after all my thoughts are written typed up, I feel myself realising what truly I have always known its that I like to procrastinate and create stories as to why I lack creativity.
Well there it is I found my creativity… At least it was there somewhere…
